Review...Get To Me by: Holly Hood

Get to me (8th Sin Series, #1)
3-3.5 stars!
Arc provided for an honest review.
This is part of Red Hot Alphas Box Set. (99 cents)Preorder on Amazon

Savy has decided to go against everything her parents instilled and quit school to volunteer at a homeless shelter. After an accident 4 years ago and never hearing from her best friend again things have never been the same for her, she wants to make a difference.

Savy ends up running into her long lost friend (Ryker) and instead of picking up where they left off they decide on a sort of friends with benefits arrangement. Ryker is famous now a pro skateboarder who is never around. But they both want each other and have made an arrangement. Savy wants answers about Ryker's disappearance and why she never heard from him again. And why were her parents so mad about an accident? Why did they dislike Ryker so much?

Savy also doesn't want a boyfriend or commitment after being a victim of heartbreak. Will she be able to continue with Ryker without getting hurt? Or will she hurt him?

Jackson, Savy's new boss is not what she expected and he shows no hesitation in flirting with her to let her know what he wants. She lets him know about her arrangement, he is fine with it and so is Ryker. So let the love triangle begin. But is it really? Throw in a little plot twist and some mystery and this is on it's way to be a great series.

I love Holly Hoods writing and characters, I am a big fan of her Ink series (which I still need to finish), but what kept me from giving it more stars was the connection with the characters. And I believe that as the series goes on it will happen but it was a short story and I didn't get that connection between Savy and Ryker especially. I thought both Ryker and Jackson were pretty sweet too and I didn't see the alpha tendencies come out, (at least not yet) which confused me because of the title of the box set. I don't need to read about alpha males it just threw me off. Like I said though it's the beginning of the series so anything can happen and I'm looking forward to reading what does. Some questions are answered but you're still left guessing.

Hudson (Fixed) by: Laurelin Paige

Hudson (Fixed, #4) I am almost done with this book. I really liked the Fixed TrilogyThe Fixed Trilogy (Fixed, #1-3) so when I heard there was a book about Hudson I was really excited to get into his head, and let me tell you what a messed up head it is. I will come back with a review soon but I think this is one of those books where the H's POV is almost essential to the series so I'm really glad the author gave it to us. If you haven't red the Fixed series I recommend especially for FSOG Fifty Shades Trilogy (Fifty Shades, #1-3) lovers and Crossfire 17870247  lovers. After this book I have a few review copies to read and I also plan on starting Holly Hood's Ink series.22736748

So busy...

I've been so busy with my daughter and all the Halloween activity in the city this weekend so my posts and reading have been slacking. I'm 90% done with Ink Ink (Ink, #1) by Holly Hood and loving it! I may write a few thoughts about the book but I'm definitely going to continue on with the series and decided to write my review for the series as a whole. I think this is a great time of year to read it too, and I didn't even plan it that way. ;)

Happy Reading!

My Review: ARC provided
4.5stars!

Four siblings: Everly, Charley, Quinn and Ethan just lost their mother who was brutally murdered. They are all together again after several years.

Ooh this book was good! I loved how it was written with the chapters being a different person. The suspense was awesome and I found myself yelling Noooo at a certain point in the book. This is a hard book to review without spoiling. And being I'm not the biggest fan of cliffhangers I couldn't give it a full five stars. It left me wanting more much more. Just when you think you like or do not like a person they do something that makes you change your mind. All siblings have certain qualities that you may not like and then just like that something happens to change your mind. I have to say out of all the siblings Ethan and Charley are by far my favorite. I liked the mystery behind their relationships. When they all went home for their mothers funeral it just felt creepy and weird and none of them really showed any emotion. It had me wondering why? Why do these people not seem to be affected by their mothers death like a normal person would? It was even mentioned in the book by a boyfriend that he found it strange...but it was never answered, which just added more mystery to the book for me. Maybe it gets answered in the series??

This book kept me on my toes, constantly wondering what was going on. When I had to put it down to do something I quickly picked it back up to get another chapter in and then another and another because the chapters were so short (which I love).

On to the boyfriends...

Vinnie-what an awful person, but then you read this letter of encouragement to hold on to him. Why?

Jordan-Love him (wake up Quinn)!

Adrian-skipping for now :/

This book was written exceptionally well. The description of the characters was superb I could visualize each and every one of them and got a real sense of their personalities (or so I thought).

I'm really looking forward to reading the next book and finding out what happens to this weird mysterious family.

I definitely recommend but beware it leaves you hanging.

Review...Run by:Holly Hood

Run

Synopsis:

Hate can take you places.

Places far away from where you belong.

When Kendall is taken by Aunt Wanda she knows nothing will ever be okay again. Aunt Wanda is an evil woman that cares about nobody but herself. The only thing keeping Kendall alive is Aunt Wanda's hatred toward her mother. Once their life of crime goes from bad to even worse, Kendall realizes if things don't change, she will go down alongside her Aunt Wanda.
Mason, the one constant in her life of misery, believes that they can make a change, maybe even be happy if they just run.
They've been friends for a lifetime, he loves her and she knows it. But she doesn't know how to return those feelings.

Hate can turn you into a monster.

Hate can hurt the people you should care about.

They want to have a chance, but just aren't sure if people like them deserve one.

Love gets in the way.
Promises get broken.
Nothing is never the same again.

My Review: (Arc provided)
4 stars!

This was a unique story. I kind off didn't know who I wanted with who and who I did or didn't like. One minute I loved Mason (H) and the next I was yelling at him. Kendall (h) was a little more likable to me, I could never relate to what the two of them were going through but for some reason I related to her more. How do you come out of what they did, normal and happy? How do you go on with your life after everything you've seen and done at such a young age?

Mason and Kendall let the people that are suppose to be caring and providing for them manipulate them in some of the worse ways possible but they didn't know any better. They've known each other since they were children and now in their twenties they are still doing the same thing...running. Well it's their turn to run, run from the horrible people that raised them. Mason and Kendall juggle a lot together they care for each other deeply and want a normal life but neither know how to really make that happen. At times their relationship seems like a love/hate relationship almost like sibling rivalry when they argue or things aren't going their way, and then at times you feel the deeper connection and chemistry they have. I think that confuses them and most certainly confuses Kendall.

This book isn't a happy go lucky NA romance; it's gritty, raw, and emotional. I wanted to scream at both H and h on many occasions. I wanted to yell and scream at them to run, ask them what are you waiting for.  Most of all I wanted them happy and together to get the life they should of had. I wanted them to make it work.

If your looking for a fluffy sweet romance this isn't the book for you. I would recommend giving it a try though, it keeps you on your toes and definitely gets you thinking.

I would rather listen to music than watch tv. Like One Republic, Justin Timberlake, Avenged Sevenfold. My taste goes from one extreme to the next. I am always searching for new bands. Have any? Let me know.

I'm currently on a smoothie kick. And I love it. I'm addicted to blurays and reality television when I am watching.

I love reading but most of my time is taken up by books that pertain to writing right now, when I do read fiction I like New Adult Romance.

I love hearing from readers, it makes my day a little brighter than it already is. So don't be afraid to message me.
