I met a boy once.

He made my heart go into a frenzy every time he looked at me, and my knees go weak whenever he touched me. Our love was so beautiful that even its demise was bittersweet.

I met a girl once.

Her world, full of possibilities, made me feel like even I had a chance at being someone. She believed in me. She loved me. We were so secure, that even our breaking point seemed hazy.

Until we reached it.

Books not reviewed yet but worth mentioning...

I have been busy busy busy reading my heart out. I haven't even had the time to review everything yet but I wanted to quickly post some of the books I've read but not written about.

The Mason List

 The Mason List

Five stars!
This story grabbed me from the beginning. It was so emotional and yet so sweet. There were times I wanted to throttle the heroine but such a beautiful story.
I highly recommend!

Fight With Me

Fight with Me (With Me in Seattle, #2)

Four stars!
This was sweet, fun and all kinds of sexy. An oldy but a goody that has been on my Kindle for a while.

Closer To The Edge

Closer to the Edge (Playing with Fire, #4)

Five stars!
This is another book that I've had for a while and the fourth in the Playing With Fire series. I really enjoyed this one. It was one of my favorites of the series. I loved almost all the books but this one was really good!

Ugh umm need I say more?
I'm not quite sure how many stars I would give this one? It was DIRTY but hot at the same completely taboo. The middle I found to be a little slow. I did enjoy the story overall but had a hard time connecting with the characters.

Right now I'm reading a review copy of Twisted Love.

Twisted Love (Twisted, #2)

I'm so excited to reveal this beautiful cover of Cat Love by: Sunniva

 Cat love banner

Cat lov front

Title: Cat Love
Author: Sunniva Dee
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Release Date: October 5, 2015
Cover Design: Clarise Tan, CT Cover Creations

A sexy thriller about the animal in all of us. Aidan uses his superpower to stabilize minds at the Hollyreed Specialist Hospital. Ulani uses hers to chase rats on rooftops. Until she’s caught and deposited in Aidan’s care. At the hospital, Aidan finds Ulani's room empty—save for a cat, whose fur retracts in favor of silky skin and a vamp-gorgeous femme fatale. Aidan’s obsession with Ulani grows— While patients at the hospital go missing.
At twenty-three, you think you’ve experienced a lot. Been there, done that for the most part. Older people might laugh at you for expressing such beliefs, but you still don’t expect to come across reality-altering experiences. Here I am, with the morning energy of Seven setting in around me as I carry a small, lost cat from the locked unit back to my apartment… only the bundle of fur is changing. There’s something wrong, I think, my thought natural and instinctive. But when her coat retracts against my hand, replaced by smooth, human skin, my intuition withdraws too and checks out. I think I roar while she expands in my arms. I’m frozen in place, my vocal cords the only part of me responding. She grows heavier, longer, wider, until she plops from my hold and onto the floor. Vamp-red hair flames around her in bright waves, and is that a snarl lifting her lip? For an instant, I swipe the hallway with my eyes, hoping someone sees what I see. No nurses, no doctors, only Mrs. Anderson’s ancient husband is there, fists clutching his walking chair while he takes in the apparition between us. Not a thread covers stunning porcelain skin. She swings, bereaving me of my fleeting view of a small ruby-red triangle and kiss-shaped nipples, and leaps to the breakroom yards from where I stand. Ulani’s gone. It takes me a moment to react. I meet old Robert Anderson’s incredulous gaze, and I shake my head at him, both denying what we’ve experienced and assuring him that we’re together in this. As I turn to follow her, he mutters, “Holy God,” behind me, and my next session with a patient will have to be with Robert. He’s been free of Dr. Holstein’s treatments because of his quiet ways, but if he starts talking about this, he’ll quickly become another notch in the good doctor’s lab desk. I just experienced something I never thought possible. A freaking cat morphed into a woman. Hell, this is what dreams and movies are made of. At the same time, I’m conditioned to react to the needs of my patients, which is why I chase after her now. Besides Ulani, no one’s in the breakroom. She’s got part of the curtains draped around her, forming an orange toga, and bare toes with scarlet nail polish peek out. She’s stunning, but more than my physical attraction to her, her emotions fascinate me. My years in this hospital are few, but the number of hours I’ve worked could double the years, and now it’s time to cloak myself in professionalism. “Ulani,” I say. “Are you okay?” It’s a simple yet necessary question. Since I have no experience with cat women, I’m not privy to the sort of strain such a transformation can have on their bodies. Her glare is not human, I realize. I was struck by the beauty of those irises the last time I saw her. Now, she narrows my view of saturated emeralds behind slitted eyes. She’s suspicious but not afraid—neither is she the slightest bit confused. This girl has issues, but they’re not on the mental level. “Don’t. Say. Anything.” Ulani enunciates the words one by one, putting so much emphasis into her command that her intensity reverberates in my chest. Efficient footsteps clack down the corridor outside. The slight shuffle of Dr. Holstein’s gait accompanies it. Laurie replies to his orders with “right, of course” and “certainly, Dr. Holstein,” but then they both come to a dead halt in the doorway. “I found Ulani,” I say quietly. “Remy, John!” Dr. Holstein barks down the hallway. “I need your assistance immediately.”

A side note: I had the privilege of reading the first part of this book and let me tell you it is soooooo good! Keep your eye out for this October 5th!!

4 super sweet stars!

Jamie (H) just moved to his apartment, just had his twenty third birthday and just was promoted in his job. He has decided to make this the year of out, get a new car and maybe meet a girl.

Sky (h) is in a bad place, her dream career has been crushed and she doesn't know what to do with her life. She's had a tough go with boyfriends and is pretty anti-men putting up a wall around her. That is until she meets Jamie. Jamie is cute, charismatic, charming and annoying all at once but they soon find themselves to be close friends.

When Sky starts using her roommates sisters matchmaking service Jamie giver her his "unbiased" opinion. What happens when these friends both feel more but are to worried to tell each other? And what happens when Sky finally finds her path? Will it pull them apart?

This story was so fun! I loved both Sky and Jamie. Jamie was a good guy and kind of nerdy in a way which made him more lovable and real. I love reading about the good guys every now and again. They all don't have to be players and big alpha males to be sexy and hot. Sky was cute and feisty, she wasn't a stomping ground for Jamie or her friends. I loved how there wasn't the stereotypical misunderstandings or mess ups. Everything was handled in a very adult and respectful way which made me respect the characters.

This was the first book in the series I've read but I'm definitely interested in reading the others now.

Review...The Hierarchy Of Needs by: Rebecca Grace Allen

The Hierarchy of Needs (The Portland Rebels, #2)

Jamie Matthews is stuck in a rut. After hitting a wall with her dream career, she’s back in her hometown, living a life as monotonous as swimming laps in the neighborhood pool.

Being surrounded by her perfect brothers is a painful reminder of her failure to launch. The last bonfire of the summer is an ideal way to let off steam, especially when she runs into Dean Trescott, the playboy friend she had one hot-as-hell night with back in high school.

Since the day Dean met Jamie, he’s loved her beauty, talent, and smile that lit up the whole damn block. But dating isn’t an option. She has a bright future ahead of her, and he refuses to chain her to his—helping run the family business that’s barely staying afloat.

A “what-happens-in-Vegas” weekend was supposed to get their craving for each other out of their systems. But neither counted on the past repeating itself, drawing them together in even hotter and dirtier ways and dangling the possibility they might both be able to get exactly what they need…

Warning: A friends-to-lovers twice over story that contains some hot ’n’ heavy kissing in the waves, hair pulling, and a man who knows how to use his hands. It may also feature a few practical jokes—only the fun kind, of course.

3.5-4 Stars!

Another super cute read by Rebecca Grace Allen! There are characters in this book that were in her first book...
Duality Principle<<<  my review
The Duality Principle
It's a standalone though so you don't have to read the first...but you should. ;)

Jamie (h) is unhappy with the way her life has turned out. She isn't doing what she wants and she feels like the black sheep of the family. All her siblings are successful but she hasn't really found her path yet. She uses her pranks and silliness to hide that she feels like an underdog in her house.

Dean (H) the known player and also one of Jamie's great friends has always loved the animated and beautiful person Jamie is but he knows he could never live up to her or her families expectations. His business with his father is barely making it and he would never want to bring Jamie down with him.

They both have an undeniable attraction to each other so they decide to have one weekend to get it out of their system. WOW what a weekend!

Will they be able to move on after and remain friends? Or will this destroy everything?

I really enjoyed this book, it's a quick read, (one sitting for me) and doesn't have a ton of angst. Both the H and h are very likable characters and Jamie is pretty funny. I got a few laughs out of it too. Great for a beach/summer read!

Review...Love At First Flight by: Tess Woods

Love At First Flight

Looking back on it now, I can see it was instant. The second we locked eyes. Boom. Just like that. The me I had spent a lifetime perfecting began its disintegration from that moment. And despite the carnage it brought to all our lives, I still don't regret it.

What would you risk to be with the love of your life? And what if your soul mate is the one who will destroy you?

Mel is living the dream. She's a successful GP, married to a charming anaesthetist and raising a beautiful family in their plush home in Perth. But when she boards a flight to Melbourne, she meets Matt and her picture perfect Stepford life unravels as she falls in love for the first time ever.

What begins as a flirty conversation between strangers quickly develops into a hot and obsessive affair with disastrous consequences neither Mel nor Matt could have ever seen coming. Mel's dream life turns into her worst nightmare.

Love at First Flight will take everything you believe about what true love is and spin it on its head.

My Review: (Review copy provided by NetGalley)

This book was so emotionally draining. It was heartbreaking and I thought about it many days before I could write this. This is not my typical go to book. When I read I want to feel emotions but I don't want to feel sad or angry throughout it. I was angry with Mel, she was so self-absorbed I couldn't take it at times, but a part of me understood too. Now I don't think she should have taken it as far as she did but she did it, and at that point she should have made choices but she did everything for herself. When her friend called her out and said everything about Mel was ME ME ME I couldn't have been happier. I don't think either man was innocent in this and maybe Adam and Matt needed what happened to get themselves and their relationships figured out but I keep coming back to Why? Why was Mel so lovable? She did nothing but stomp on both of their hearts and think of herself. So this is why I'm struggling with a rating and review. I want an emotionally charged book, I want the happiness, sadness, anger and laughter but I never felt the laughter or happiness. I never felt put back together. God, but the author knocked the story right out and she did such a good job; so how could I rate it negatively? It was a well done story and had me thinking about it for days after, so kudos to her. It just wasn't my story and maybe if I was in a different mind set or if I had read it at a different time in my life I may have felt differently about the story itself. I know people that will love this book and I will recommend it to them because it was so well done. I will say I devoured this book, I couldn't put it down because I just had to see how everything turned out. With that said did I enjoy this book? I don't know? I guess at times I did. Would I recommend it? Yes to some people. Would I read more of this authors work? Absolutely! I'm sorry this review is so wishy washy but that's how my brain and heart felt while reading it. Congrats to the author on her debut novel, this one couldn't have been easy.
