I Bet You by Ilsa Madden-Mills is live!! Read my review! Free in KU!

IBY-SBPRBANNER-RB.jpg

She’s the one bet I can’t resist...

Wall Street Journal bestselling author Ilsa Madden-Mills returns with an all-new swoon-fest of a novel about what happens when you look beyond labels and take a chance on love.

I Bet You, an all-new sexy college romance standalone is LIVE!

I-BET-You-REALFINAL-3.jpg

Sexy Athlete: I bet you…
Penelope Graham: Burn in hell, quarterback.

The late night text is random but Penelope knows exactly who “Sexy Athlete” is. And why she shouldn't take his wager.
Ryker Voss.
Football star.
Walks on water and God's gift to women.
Just ask him.
His bet? He promises Penelope he’ll win her the heart of the nerdy guy she’s been crushing on. His plan—good old-fashioned jealousy. Once her crush sees her kissing Ryker, he'll realize what he's missing. Sounds legit, right? The only question is…why is Ryker being so nice to her?
Penelope Graham.
Virgin.
Lover of sparkly vampires and calculus.
His mortal enemy.
Penelope knows she shouldn’t trust a jock, but what’s a girl to do when she needs a date to Homecoming? And Ryker’s keeping a secret, another bet, one that could destroy Penelope’s heart forever.
Will the quarterback score the good girl or will his secret mean everyone loses at this game of love?

My Review: (ARC provided)
4 stars!

Ilsa never disappoints with a with a fun, fast read. I polished this book off in no time and enjoyed every minute of it.
Penelope (h) a little quirky and extremely enjoyable, you couldn’t help but love her. Ryker (H) is a star athlete, pretty cocky and also extremely enjoyable. The two are pretty much opposites. Penelope exposed all of Ryker’s dirty secrets, but he’s intrigued by her, wants to get to know her more, but his teammates are making it difficult by placing bets instead of letting things happen naturally.

Penelope swears off football players anyways, so she’ll never let him in, friends and fun are all they are. Until…

Ryker and Penelope had a unique relationship, and you knew what they wanted, but talk about a slow burn. I was pulling out my hair waiting for something to happen, and then finally, but not before it all gets ripped apart.

I loved their friendly banter with that underlying sexual tension; it worked for them.

This was a great book that had me laughing, rooting, and falling in love with Ryker and Penelope. I would definitely recommend this book.

Hustle is Brooke’s middle name, and she has no intention of losing this fight, no matter how tempting Brody’s smile — and body — is.

 Suzy's Review (ARC provided)
Five stars!

Novellas typically leave my greedy self wanting more. They seem to never be enough for me. But Kristen Proby certainly gave me enough with Brooke and Brody’s story. Friendship, love, angst.

Brooke and Brody were best friends growing up. Until something made Brody withdraw from the friendship and at 18 he ended up leaving town never to return. Brooke never knowing what went wrong.

Years later Brooke owns a flower shop and is thriving. Only to find out Brody is coming back to town to sell the building her business is in since his father passed. Brooke strikes a deal with Brody to stay for a week and see what Cunningham Falls has to offer these days and how well her business is doing. During that time you see love blossom!

Kristen never disappoints and this book is a great addition the the Big Sky series!Grab your copy of TEMPTING BROOKE today!

Excerpt:

Podcast Series: The Day the Jerk Started Falling with Oliver Arsen Dating is easy, mates. The women are plentiful, the opportunities abundant, and the fun endless. I’ve taken a woman night surfing—only to end up using the board and the motion of the water for another purpose—jetted over to New Zealand for a two-day holiday with another, and given more than one a fair tour of my bedroom. No effort overspent, I enjoyed every moment of it. I live hard and love harder, but it’s the second one that usually gets me in the most trouble. My affection tends to be short-lived—a quality I’ve been assured multiple times by the fairer sex isn’t becoming. Basically, according to the greater population, I’m the ultimate jerk. And if you grouped the lot of my past conquests together and set me ablaze, not one of them would piss on me to save my life. Taking the next step, having a long-term relationship, has never been my forte. Commitment is hard. The thought of a one-woman wank for the rest of my life has barely ever been conceivable, let alone possible, and I have to blame that for how badly it all went. When I look back at my behavior, there has to be a reason. A reason, friends, that when it came to Luciana Wright, I fucked it all up. I’ve been cursed out, stomped on, slapped. Had my balls volleyed, spat on, and punched. And even, on one occasion, nearly run over by a car with a madwoman behind the wheel. But I’ve never been through the brutal torture of love. Until Lucky. She’s an American bombshell and my sister’s best friend—a woman so wrong for me, it should be written in the waves. And she’s the reason we’re all here. The exact reason why I strong-armed the lovely, albeit slightly hard-ass, editor of this fantastic website to let an Aussie bloke like me prattle on about his love woes. [chuckles] Vanessa, if you’re listening, I’m certain your balls are bigger than just about every man out there. And trust me, that is a compliment. [chuckles again] Also, thank you for your hospitality via podcast permission. It is much appreciated. And you, dear listeners, you should know that for the next God only knows how many episodes of this podcast series, I’m going to spend my time talking directly to Lucky. If you’re not her, but you’d like to keep listening, I urge you to help me. Help me by hearing me out. Help me by relating to my story. Help me plead my case. And to really prepare yourself to get the whole tale from both sides, listen to her podcast first. [distinct pause] I had you in my grasp, Lucky, but now it’s fallen apart. And in order to explain how it happened—to explain myself—I feel like I have to go back to the day it all began. To the day the jerk started falling.

Out Now!! Fall by: Kristen Callihan

The first time I met Jax Blackwood things went a little sideways. In my defense, I didn’t know he was Jax Blackwood—who expects a legendary rock star to be shopping for groceries? More importantly, a blizzard was coming and he was about to grab the last carton of mint-chocolate chip. Still, I might have walked away, but then he smugly dared me to try and take the coveted ice cream. So I kissed him. And distracted that mint-chip right out of his hands. Okay, it was a dirty move, but desperate times and all that. Besides, I never expected he’d be my new neighbor. An annoying neighbor who takes great pleasure in reminding me that I owe him ice cream but would happily accept more kisses as payment. An irresistible neighbor who keeps me up while playing guitar naked–spectacularly naked–in his living room. Clearly, avoidance is key. Except nothing about Jax is easy to ignore—not the way he makes me laugh, or that his particular brand of darkness matches mine, or how one look from him melts me faster than butter under a hot sun. Neither of us believes in love or forever. Yet we’re quickly becoming each other’s addiction. But we could be more. We could be everything. All we have to do is trust enough to fall.

AMAZON | APPLE BOOKS | B&N

I clear my throat. “While I was eating my ice cream—” He snorts, but remains tense. “I thought about how you looked familiar to me.” “It was the guilt haunting you.” “Or … And I’m just throwing this out there. You’re Jax Blackwood.” He actually flinches. “Fuck. You recognized me.” “It was bound to happen. John? Really?” His chin tips in a pugnacious angle. “It’s my name. John is … me. Jax is who I am onstage.” I picture him performing, all electric energy and raw passion and sheer talent. It’s a sight to behold. Hell, a couple of really hot fantasies have been induced by that sight. While I’m lost in a teen fantasy, his eyes dart around like he’s expecting someone to pop out from behind a snow mound and take his picture. Then his gaze snags on me. My expression must be slightly punch drunk, because his entire body leans away from mine. Not exactly flattering to realize he’s afraid I’ll try to lick his face or something. I snap my gaping mouth closed. “Oh, calm down. It’s not like I’m going to start squealing and try to grab your junk.” His expression lightens a little. “I think if you grabbed my junk, I’d be the one squealing.” “True. I have surprisingly strong hands.” When he stares at me in horror, I hold them up and wiggle my fingers. “Yoga. It’s highly effective.” “My balls just flinched in terror.” “Consider yourself warned.” He snorts but then glances at our building. “You really live here?” “Do you really think I hunted you down?” John—because I can’t seem to think of him as Jax—runs his hand through his damp hair, which makes his biceps bunch and twitch. “Yeah … that does sound crazy.” Crazy. This whole situation is. One day, I’m offered a four-month home in a dream condo, the next I’m standing on my stoop talking to a rock star. The biggest legend of my generation. I honestly don’t know how I’m not stammering right now. “I can’t believe we’re neighbors,” I say without thinking. His green eyes glint in the afternoon light, but he pauses and looks at me more closely. “You know, not to sound conceited here, but you’re kind of leering at me right now.” My chin snaps up like I’ve been hit, even as my body flushes with embarrassment. Shit. I totally had been leering. No, not leering. But I had been staring at him in awe. Ugh. “Well, you do sound conceited. I was simply making polite eye contact.” Liar McLiar-Face.           Kristen Callihan is an author because there is nothing else she’d rather be. There’s one thing you should know.
I wasn’t that drunk.
I was more than sober enough to put a stop to it.
The truth is, it was my idea. I’m the one who suggested it.
I knew it was crazy, but it’s not as if I’d be the first girl to get married on a whim in Las Vegas. I wouldn’t even be the last girl to get married on a whim in Las Vegas.
So what’s my excuse? I liked him. I liked the idea that he’d be stuck with me, just for a little bit.
Because nothing good ever lasts, so you might as well have a good time while you can.

The Wrong Game, an all-new angsty, emotional and fun sports romance from Kandi Steiner is now live! Read my review here! A fabulous five stars!!

The Wrong Game RB banner.jpeg

He can't win if he's playing The Wrong Game

TWG Cover FINAL.png

Two season tickets.
One genius idea.
Zero interest in a relationship.
The plan is simple: a brand new, hot, preferably funny, definitely single male will fill one of those seats for every Bears game at Soldier Field. And I’ll fill the other.
I can’t think of a better way to use the season passes I’d bought for my ex-husband. I am a woman of plans, and this one’s foolproof.
Until Zach Bowen offers to be my practice round.
He’s infuriating. Presumptuous and overbearing. And absolutely, undeniably gorgeous. Any woman with a heartbeat would be attracted to him, and mine picks up speed every time he speaks.
But as I said, I’m a woman of plans — and I’m not backing down on this one.
One night. One game. And then, his time’s up.
He can try to change the rules, but here’s the truth: he can’t win if he’s playing the wrong game.

My Review (ARC Provided)
Five plus stars!!

Give me all the stars for this book!! I freaking loved it, couldn't put it down and gobbled it up like a hot dog. ;) Talk about hot dogs, I'm craving them now.

I don't know even know where to begin. It starts off with high emotions, you're not quite sure what's going to happen after that prologue. I think Kandi is the master of angst, holy crap; this book had me on edge.

I love love love the hero (Zach) in this book. He was the perfect mix of everything you'd want in a man. And what I liked about him so much was that he wasn't afraid to show his soft side. He was a romantic at heart, and it made him even sexier. He's had heartbreak in the past, but isn't afraid of love.

"I wanted to hold her hand and love her through it all. I wanted to be a part of her healing, let her know she didn't have to go at it alone."

Our heroine (Gemma) the poor thing has been through so much. As a young widower, she needs to find peace with her past and move on. Although she's a control freak, a planner, OCD and she just can't seem to let her self-go unless it's according to her lists and plans. When her friend convinces her to get out there and date she forms a plan she is unwilling to break. This is the only way she's able to protect her heart. She is so scared. The only problem is, is that Zach is determined to make her see otherwise. Bring on the angst.

"You're shaking because you want to touch me, because you want me to touch you. It's that rush of having someone's hands on your body, someone new, someone who makes your heart race and your breath shallow."

There were times I wanted to tell Zach to forget it, but in the next chapter, I wanted to tell Gemma to fight. These two had some of the best chemistry right off the bat, you felt the heat coming off the pages. Let's talk about hot too, I think think this might have been the dirtiest scene I've read by Kandi. WOW!! I messaged my friend and was like "prepare for the dirty we love so much." 🤣

I couldn't find a negative in this book. It was so well written and full of emotion. Now we need a book about Belle because she's the cats meow!!

"You're a good guy. You're a fighter. No one has ever fought for Gemma in her life. And she's the kind of girl who deserves to be fought for."

About the Author:
Kandi Steiner is a bestselling author and whiskey connoisseur living in Tampa, FL. Best known for writing “emotional rollercoaster” stories, she loves bringing flawed characters to life and writing about real, raw romance — in all its forms. No two Kandi Steiner books are the same, and if you’re a lover of angsty, emotional, and inspirational reads, she’s your gal.
An alumna of the University of Central Florida, Kandi graduated with a double major in Creative Writing and Advertising/PR with a minor in Women’s Studies. She started writing back in the 4th grade after reading the first Harry Potter installment. In 6th grade, she wrote and edited her own newspaper and distributed to her classmates. Eventually, the principal caught on and the newspaper was quickly halted, though Kandi tried fighting for her “freedom of press.” She took particular interest in writing romance after college, as she has always been a diehard hopeless romantic, and likes to highlight all the challenges of love as well as the triumphs.
When Kandi isn’t writing, you can find her reading books of all kinds, talking with her extremely vocal cat, and spending time with her friends and family. She enjoys live music, traveling, anything heavy in carbs, beach days, movie marathons, craft beer and sweet wine — not necessarily in that order.

My Review (ARC provided)
4-4.5 stars!

Hold on a moment while I get a fan…Wow, this book was steamy. This is one of the better Rockstar romances I’ve read. It was unique in a way that both hero and heroine were famous, both held each other up on a pedestal, and both felt not worthy of the other. So often we see the mega pop star fall for the normal girl, but this made it more believable. They live in the same world and deal with the same things.

What happens after the girl next story “sexiest woman alive” one of the most famous actresses gets left? Well, she goes out with her friends, parties and ends up dancing with “the sexiest rock star alive” “hottest eligible young bachelor” and previous boyband member. Their chemistry is burning on the dance floor, and they have a magnetic attraction, but when the dance/night is over so are they, (even if Natalia had the best kiss of her life).

Natalia and Nick keep running into each other though, and NInck isn’t ready to let her go even if Natalia is persistent about not wanting anything. She doesn’t want to ruin her “America’s Sweetheart” reputation, and she doesn't want to be labeled a cougar. Natalia is thirteen years older than Nick with much more life experiences under her belt, and she’s ready to settle down. But…what’s no strings attached sex going to hurt as long as no one finds out?

“I get why I’m her secret. I just wish I didn’t have to be.”

As time goes on feelings get involved and one is bound to be hurt, but they can’t seem to pull away.

“I’m not the only one with feelings here. This coaster is one we’re on together.”

I enjoyed this story and how it was written. I have many quotes highlighted because they seemed so real and relevant to how we would feel in a similar situation.

“If I’m going to author the story I’ve always wanted for myself, as a wife, as a mother, then I’m running out of time. For Nick, time has hardly just begun. This isn’t anyone's fault. It’s just that we’re in two different places on life's path. Close for a moment, but then diverging.”

I can’t wait to see what the other Ryder brothers have in store for us.

EXCERPT
"Hi," he says, doing a double-take when he realizes it's me. He looks fabulous, of course, because why wouldn’t he when I look so scrubby? He's wearing jeans and a T-shirt and a hoodie, and his face doesn't look like he's tired, or like he stayed up late to drink too much and tear up the dance floor.
Or like he spent last night making out with somebody more than a decade older than him.
"It’s crazy seeing you here," I say. I giggle again at the sheer ridiculousness of this. "Do you come here often?" What am I doing? What am I saying? It's like I just learned how to talk to people of the opposite sex. How have I ever gotten a date?
Not that I'm trying to date Nick.
"Occasionally. You?" He sticks his hands in his pockets and he's so relaxed, so sexy, and I just can't stand all that swagger on such a handsome guy that I am not allowed to touch. It’s unfair for anyone to look so effortlessly edible before nine a.m.
"It's my favorite shop. Come here all the time." I take a couple steps backwards, trying to shift toward my car. "I probably should—"
"Don't you think it's probably more than a coincidence?" He takes a step towards me, and I take one back, willing myself not to respond to the rumble of his deep voice and the magnetism of his body. "That we’d see each other again so soon. Kind of like fate, almost."
Oh my god, Oh my god, he’s flirting with me. What do I do? He’s so hot, I can’t even look at him. But then I do, and I have total church-giggles over this, and I have to escape before I make an even bigger fool out of myself. Someone is bound to notice that I am losing my cool, and they’ll draw conclusions that aren’t even true.
It was just kissing!
"It's really weird, I have to admit." I dance back some more, then glance behind me to make sure I’m not going to back into the street and get run over and make this even worse. "And really awkward." I brush some hair back that’s come loose from the messy bun at the base of my neck.
He shrugs, seeming to disagree. And it’s true that I’m the only one who seems to be awkward right now. "I don't know about that. Doesn't have to be awkward. Could just be convenient. Since I never got your phone number."
If I didn't think he was flirting before, I know he definitely is now. I don't want to say no to him, but I have to say no to him. He cannot have my number. Can’t have anything more than a memory of a scorching-hot make-out in the back of a club. What we did was not for a sunlit day. It was for a dark corner. And yet, I still can't seem to actually say the word no. So instead I say, "Why do you need my phone number?"
Oh my god, this is mortifying. It really is like I'm in high school again and I've forgotten not only how to talk to boys but how to stand in their presence.
He takes another step toward me, laughing. "Well, for one thing, I thought it might be nice if we had dinner sometime."
He has the most ridiculous smile, I realize. It lights up his entire face. You can see it in his eyes, and there's no pretension. It's all genuine. Pure sunshine. I'm rendered speechless by it for half a second and I have to ask, "What was that?"
"Dinner,” he says, that huge-ass grin in full force, taking another step toward me, and now there's only three feet between us, and I can feel the body heat from him, can remember what it felt like the last time he walked me backwards into a wall and then his body was pressing into me, and his mouth was on me. When his chest was against me, when his cock was pressing into me and my hips—
I suddenly jump backwards. "I don't think that would be a good idea." I look around suddenly to see if anyone's noticed this exchange yet.
It’s fine, it’s still fine.
We're just two people who work in the same industry who bumped into each other on a Saturday morning and are chatting like people do on Saturday mornings when they bump into each other. While giggling. Totally fine.
"What are you worried about, Natalia?" He doesn't chase after me, just stands there looking confident and laid-back. Like a man trying to tempt a scared animal out from hiding. "I mean—I do bite, but most women like it."
I smile at that, because I can't help it, but I duck so he doesn’t see.
He’s probably so much more experienced than me.
He’s probably so dirty in the bedroom.
God, I shouldn’t be thinking about that. "I shouldn't even be talking to you," I say, shaking my head. I turn toward my car.
"No, you shouldn’t be," he calls from behind me, and I have to actually close my eyes to collect myself because it’s obvious he’s thinking about doing not-talking things. Things like last night. Things like biting.
Things good girls have no business being so turned on by.
I tell myself he probably says stuff like that to all the girls who walk away from him.
But who am I kidding? Who has ever walked away from Nick Ryder? Besides me, I mean. Twice now. I deserve an Oscar for my willpower. That should be a new category.
"Bye, Nick," I call as I flee with my coffee.
Then I step into my car, put my keys in the ignition and drive away before I lose my senses and change my mind.

Available Now!!

Book Blurb:
“Hi Monty. Wanna see my python?”
That’s how I ended up in the bathroom of some dive bar with a stranger.
Me, Monty Andrews, the quintessential virgin girl next door.
I was so out of my element, but there was no denying our explosive attraction, even via text.
Commence Operation Bang Each Other Out of Our Systems, because that was all it was—unfinished business.
I had no intention of falling back into the sheets with the tattooed, muscly, dirty-in-the-best-kind-of-way single dad over and over again…but I did.
Everything was going great—until we discovered I was his son’s teacher.

My Review (ARC provided)

Five Stars!

Well, well, I didn't think I could like this book more than the first two in this series, but I was wrong, Can't Text This was my favorite one yet. I was so excited for Robbie's book, and so curious how it would play out. It was laugh out loud funny, sweet, and sexy.  I love RomCom's, and I read a lot of them, Teagan can write the heck out of Romantic Comedy, not only that but she did such an excellent job of making opposites attract work. Sometimes it's corny or a little too far-fetched, but Robbie and  Monty just clicked. I love how they meet, how they connect and get to know each other and eventually become an item.

"Sometimes it feels like I know too much and nothing about you all at once."

Teagan totally threw me in this book, I did not expect what happened to happen. I love little surprises like that.

Monty and Robbie have this cute flirty banter that you can't help but love. I had a big smile on my face the entire time I was reading their dialogue via text. And another thing I really loved is that they just accepted each other for the person they were, Monty wasn't freaked out that Robbie had a child, she went with it, and that was it. Robbie didn't expect Monty to change because she was more on the straight and narrow he accepted her as she was.

"You're that thing I never knew I wanted until I had it. You're fun and adventure and temptation all wrapped into one, and I want to give in to you so badly."

I highly recommend this book and the whole series for that matter. Go get them they are everything you could ask for in a RomCom and more!!
