Review...Behind Closed Doors by: Lisa Renee Jones

Behind Closed Doors (Behind Closed Doors, #1)

Synopsis:
From New York Times bestselling author Lisa Renee Jones comes a brand new gripping and provocative novel that ties into her bestselling Careless Whispers and Inside Out series. You can enjoy this as a standalone, but fans of Careless Whispers and Inside Out will get an exciting glimpse of who Ella really is and some of the secrets she's been hiding from everyone she knows.

Desperate to pay for law school, Skye tries her hand at auction hunting with her friend Ella, only to find a poker chip and a note leading to an offsite locker. The next thing she knows, Jason “Red Bull” Wise—a famous, millionaire poker player—is at her door, accusing her of blackmail. Innocent, she swears he’s wrong. He rolls the dice and believes her, impulsively inviting her along to Las Vegas. And remarkably, cautious Skye takes a risk, finding herself seduced by this dangerously alluring man, on his private jet, and finally living life to the fullest. But there is more than passion waiting for Skye and Jason in Vegas when blackmail takes a deadly turn.

My Review (copy provided)
4.5 stars!

Behind Closed Doors was a page turner and I just kept reading and reading wanting to know how everything was going to tie in with Ella, but also just as intrigued with the new hero and heroine, (Jason and Skye) Lisa introduces us to. I gotta say these two were really likable characters and I’m not ready to let them go. I’m hoping in some way we get more of them, whether they are side characters in a new book, maybe a novella, or even make an appearance in Ella’s story somehow.

Lisa has a way of captivating her readers and keeping us guessing. This book is a bit lighter than her previous novels but you still get that style she writes so well. Her books always play out like a movie in my head. Being an avid reader of the Inside Out and Careless Whispers series, I think I finally have Ella figured out, well not totally I mean this is Lisa and we still have more of her  to read about, but I get it, I had that A-ha moment, which made me smile, which made me that more intrigued.

Do yourself a favor and pick up these books, series, spinoffs, and standalones, you won’t be disappointed. In the mean time I’ll be anxiously awaiting for the next.
