How My Neighbor Stole Christmas by Meghan Quinn

My favorite time of the year arrived early with this sexy, fun, silly read. This book sure got me in the holiday spirit. I want to be in Kringletown where Christmas is 24/7, it sounds like a dream. I honestly don’t know where Meghan comes up with her ideas but they are so clever.

I think I giggled throughout this book, and if I wasn’t laughing, I was panting, because WOW Cole is dirty. I don’t think I’ll ever look at a candy cane the same again without thinking about this. And the MC’s names…Storee and Cole how perfect for this book.

I have to say though the narrator was my favorite, and all I could hear was Dr. Suess’s version of The Grinch in my head. I’m sure many other readers will experience the same. Also, I really would love to get a book about Atlas/Max, he was such a great side character.

I once again devoured Megan’s story. You will laugh out loud, get a little teary, and definitely get a little hot for these friends to enemies to lovers and fake relationships to lovers, (I could go on with the tropes). I will not recap the book because you just need to grab a cup of hot chocolate and go in blind.

This book was so much fun! I couldn’t stop laughing, Meghan Quinn’s humor is so unique and funny. She always knows how to get me to laugh out loud and wake my husband out of sleep. Both our MC’s Every and Hardy are a bit awkward, which makes them so lovable. They have this quirky email exchange that made me giggle, but Everly’s one-liners are what had me going. I love it when the characters are both likable and I liked both of them immediately. There were a lot of silly misunderstandings and times you wanted to shake them and tell them to open their eyes, but it’s what made the book and the slow burn so well done.

I was excited to get a book about a Hopper brother because they were such great characters in Bridesmaid for Hire. I usually highlight a line or two to quote but I devoured this book so fast that I didn’t even make any notes.

I read something that MQ wrote about this being one of the hardest books she has written, because it goes from friends to lovers, to enemies to lovers. Well, I couldn’t tell at all, she did a fantastic job of making this work. And those two tropes happen to be my favorite. I can’t wait to see what her next book has in store for us!

Out Now! SoThis Is War by: Meghan Quinn...Review

So This Is War (Vancouver Agitators, #5)
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

My Review (ARC provided)
Four stars!
@tlbc.reads

So This is War by Meghan Quinn was a fun and steamy story. I couldn’t wait to dive into Posey’s book, I have been waiting for that bologna-loving hockey player to get his story finally. I wasn’t sure how serious I would take him, but Meghan did a good job keeping him funny, but also sexy and in control when he needed to be. And I wasn’t expecting his kinks. I loved the texting between the Queens; it had me giggling the whole time.

Wylie was a strong confident woman, ten years younger than Posey. She was the coach's daughter and Posey’s secret obsession. And she just so happened to love bologna.

Posey and Wylie’s chemistry sizzled throughout the entire book and I thought I’d combust if something didn’t happen soon. Their banter and games were hilarious and the tasks Posey had to have her do were utterly ridiculous. This book will have you laughing and smiling, but it will have you ripping your hair out in frustration while panting.

I thought this was an entertaining and fun story, and I’m so sad this series is over, but my favorite is still He’s Not My Type.

Blurb:

Did I think I was going to fall for my coach's daughter?

The answer would be no.

I'm still unclear on how I got into this predicament in the first place. A year ago, I was a man with one thought on his mind, the redhead I met at a hotel bar. Twelve months later, I found her.

Unfortunately for me, she not only happens to be my very off-limits coach's daughter, but also . . . my new assistant and roommate.

I don't even need an assistant, but Coach Wood doesn’t take no for an answer. Add in him writing up tasks for his daughter, Wylie, to complete for me? Well, it's his own form of sweet torture. We are talking tasks that I would never ask her to do.

Tasks that make her despise me.

Hate me.

That make her utter four words that cause a shiver to crawl up my spine . . . Posey, this is war.

Honey Cut by Sierra Simone was such a captivating and steamy read. Sierra once again is impeccable with her writing and storytelling and she’s the reason why I started this series. For one, I’m not into age gaps over ten years, two, I don’t like cheating and sharing, and three, sex clubs just aren't my thing. This book checks all those boxes and I devoured it. It was so good that the above-mentioned didn’t even bother me. The story picks up after Isolde and Tristan are back from the boat, they are on edge because they don’t know if Mark knows about them. It is angsty and the tension and sexual chemistry between the three of them is palpable. I was rooting for Tristan and Isolde and hating Mark, but then I could see some of his walls come down before they went right back up. I do not like Mark, but I wanted the three to make something work out. This is a unique and passionate relationship between the main characters, and the author does an excellent job of building tension and chemistry between them. Sierra drew me into the emotional journey of the characters. The book contains deliciously mature content and explores some darker more complex themes. You will be left with one hell of a cliffhanger and book hangover. I can’t believe I must wait to discover what happens between this threesome. I know it will be worth it!

Blurb:   I have one job in this arranged marriage, and that’s to seduce my husband. It should be easy; I’m the heiress to a transatlantic fortune, bred and raised to make a good match. I’ve spent a lifetime building up my endurance, my discipline, my dedication to my god and my church. The danger lies in falling for the devil who put his ring on my finger—a mistake I made years ago, and can’t afford to make again. There is one more danger: handsome and green-eyed, emotionally wounded. Tristan Thomas, former soldier and my new husband’s bodyguard. A hero who stole my heart with salt-soaked kisses on the sea. But Lyonesse is not like other places, and this isn’t like other marriages. Soon Tristan, Mark, and I are tangled in a knot of vicious jealousy and gorgeous wickedness, where suspicion is an aphrodisiac and secrets and vows are one and the same. And there is something far darker at play than my real purpose, than the machinations of the Church I serve. Darker even than the twisted longings of my own heart. Because my husband has secrets of his own, and the reason he’ll stop at nothing to possess me could slice my soul deeper than the honeysuckle-hilted knife he gave me once upon a time. Because when it comes to Mark Trevena and his games, the first cut is more than the deepest—it’s the sweetest. And he always leaves you begging for more…   Read the Lyonesse Prequel, Salt in the Wound, for FREE Tropes: Anti-hero. Age gap. Out Now! Nine Month Contract by: Amy Daws

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Amy Daws is back with a funny, sexy, and heartwarming story!

Wyatt is content with his remote life in the mountains, surrounded by his brothers and working, but he is missing a child of his own. He’s been the doting uncle but is ready to take on fatherhood. With the help of his niece (unbeknownst to him), she is determined to find him a surrogate to carry his child. But she also has some other plans.

Trista needs money, and having children and a family of her own isn’t something she wants. After being rejected by a surrogacy agency, she runs into Every Wyatt's niece, who has plans for her uncle.

I loved the timeline of this book; it was in the future and years after we met Everly. I also loved how Everly had chapters from her point of view. The chemistry between Wyatt and Trista was scorching, and so were their encounters. I loved the banter between the brothers and wished we had a little more of the family dynamic. I loved both characters' strength and vulnerability; I thought they complimented one another. I am so happy that Amy is back and can’t wait to read the next brother. I hope Everly continues to play matchmaker because it was such a clever way to bring her into the book. And just maybe we will get her love story

“You had to be everything I’ve dreamed about, every wish I’ve made on falling stars and birthday candles and pennies in mall fountains, and you had to make me fall in love with you.”

This book was so damn heartbreakingly beautiful! Talk about being on an emotional roller coaster. My friends know I don’t usually go for an age-gap romance because, honestly, they usually give me the ick. I just had this feeling that Jennifer’s writing wouldn’t do that to me, and I was right. I went into this book with an open mind, and let me tell you, I ate it up. Her writing is beautiful, and she takes you on this incredible journey of love, friendship, and growth. Reed and Halley are soul mates, age be damned,

Reed is an incredible person and father and just wants to do what’s right. He struggles with his feelings towards Halley and tries to bury them.

Halley has been through so much in her lifetime, and she finally has found someone she connects with on a deeper level. All while struggling to keep her feelings at bay to protect a family she truly loves.

“Father didn’t love me; Mom didn’t love me enough. I guess that was why I loved too much. I had a lot of loveless holes to fill.”

There was so much sexual tension and angst in this book that I could hardly stand it. I felt like I was rooting for something to finally happen, but then I wondered if I really wanted it to happen. Like I said, it's an emotional roller coaster.

I can’t tell you how happy I was to receive the ARC of this book; it met every one of my expectations. I can’t imagine I’ll read another book that will bring it to this level for a long time. It is truly a fantastic read!

These boys are my kind of crazy and crazy they are! In book 3, Walker lived up to the insane and gave Lincoln and Ari a run for their money. How do I find this swoon-worthy?

Walker "Disney," the pretty boy, believes in love at first sight, and with the guys falling so quickly and in love, he is ready to meet his match. When he locks eyes with Olivia at his game and after she totally disses him, he knows she is the one. He falls for her right then and there and falls hard. He decided he would do anything and everything to get the girl, and boy, does he.

Olivia is broken and held under her manager and mother's thumb, manipulated and played her whole career. She needs someone like Walker to help her get out of it, even if he's motives are a bit skewed.

"I'm an empty husk that's been sucked dry of anything redeeming or worthy."

This book was a page-turner; Walker and Olivia were a great couple and brought the best out in each other. Yes. Walker is very questionable in his choices, but I kind of feel like that's what Olivia needed. I can't wait to get more of these crazy hockey boys!

I could tell from the first couple of chapters that I would love Wyatt’s character, and as the book went on, he just got better and better; he was funny, sensitive, kind, attractive, and full of great ideas. He was the perfect person to bring Aubree out of her funk. Aubree has always been known as the town grump, ornery, and angry. She has dealt with a lot throughout her life and is just trying to make ends meet to make her deceased sister “proud.” When Wyatt comes into her life, she isn’t prepared for him and is very wary of his intentions; as his intentions become clear, she has a decision to make, one that will give her control of all the farm and land. A Wyatt slowly creeps into her life; he brings light back to Aubree.

Aubree is so insecure it’s tough for her to see why a guy like Wyatt would want a girl like her. Wyatt makes it his mission to protect and help her. Sigh…He was everything; anytime a chapter came up from his point of view, I smiled. I loved reading his thoughts. I have to say this is one of my absolute favorite male characters Meghan has written. And I loved the complexity of Aubree’s character.

This book was fantastic from beginning to end. I also loved all the easter eggs planted from her previous books. I can’t wait to get Ryland’s book and more from Almond Bay!

I have gobbled up this series and couldn’t wait to get to Addison’s story. She is such a spitfire and a strong female character. It’s not until Chase comes into the picture that you see a softer, more vulnerable side to her. And the energy that Chase exudes is something else. And that energy is solely focused on getting Addison to trust him and be with him in every way possible. The problem is Addison won’t let herself fall for Chase and his charming ways. She’s been victim to it for a decade, and she wants to move on, but Chase is going to make that very difficult for her in the small town they are from because he is planning on staying for a while, and when he puts his mind to something he doesn't give up.

I loved Chase's tenacity and Addison’s stubbornness; they made for a great story and an angsty connection. One of my favorite tropes is friends to lovers and brothers best friends, and I think that fits in perfectly with this book. I won’t give away my favorite book of the series until I read Levi’s book, which I’ll anxiously await. I can’t wait to get into that man's head.
