I loved this story. I went into it blind because I just do with Kristy’s books, and I was so happy with what it turned out to be!
This was the perfect lead up to be the grumpy sunshine landlord or the enemies to lover's trope, but it wasn’t! Don't get me wrong I do love those stories but this one was just so heartwarming and sweet and totally not what I expected. It will definitely pull at your heartstrings.
Crew has had a rough go lately and has decided to move his twin daughters away from the city for the summer and to a small town. He will be living and taking over his uncle's home, the only stipulation was to help out and be a landlord to the tenant using the rental cabin that is on the property.
Tennyson, Crew’s new tenant is hiding, and he knows it, she is scared and guarded but beautiful and sweet. Crew is determined to get to know her and figure out what Tennyson could be so afraid of, all while trying to recover from his trauma and failed marriage.
Crew and Tennyson had immediate chemistry and I loved their interactions. Another thing I loved about this book was the way both Crew and Tennyson were with the girls. It made the story feel real and made me smile.
I really enjoyed getting Tennyson’s back story bit by bit. It was a great way to see what had happened to make her hide. And the end was not what I expected. I don’t read a book very often that I don’t see what is coming, but I didn’t guess this ending. I love how everything played out.
I just fell in love with this story, the characters and the town. It was the perfect romance.
