This book brought me right back to 2013 when I read and devoured Amanda and Noah’s story in Present Perfect. I get to reads and feel everything from this wonderful series all over again. It’s several years later and we get the kid's story now!
This love story starts on Halloween when a sweet young Brandon rescues a sweet young girl (Halle) dressed as a lego, very much the same feels as when Noah and Amanda meet. Brad is a couple of years older than Halle and her best friend's brother. They become fast friends and Brandon becomes her protector, that is until she gets older and he starts looking at her differently.
This whole book is a love story about two people that won't let go and show their love for each other. It’s filled with angst and passion and while you are rooting for these two to make it work something always happens that comes in between them.
This book was so well written, it has an angsty little love triangle thrown in and you can’t help but love the other person. You don't want them together but yet you feel bad because you don't if that makes sense? Alison does such a good job of writing that other person that you can't help but love them.
Please be warned that this book may trigger some people, I can not write the trigger for fear of spoiling the book, but I’d be happy to tell you in a private message. It tore me up and made me cry, but ultimately it's what brought our Forever Perfect couple together. I am so happy I got to read these beautiful words and get more of this series I love so much!
