My Review (ARC provided)
4 stars!
Talk about a slow burn… Meghan Quinn is truly the master of it. She knows exactly how to keep readers on edge the entire time, and yes, she absolutely brings the spice… but makes us work for it first. The tension, the anticipation, the waiting? Torture in the best possible way.
Maple and Graydon are such strong, memorable characters, and this is peak grumpy sunshine. Honestly, Graydon might be one of the grumpiest heroes she’s ever written. There were moments I wondered if we’d ever see the man crack a smile. But as we slowly uncover the reasons behind who he is, everything clicks in such an emotional, satisfying way.
And Maple? She’s pure light. The warmth, positivity, and freshness she brings into Graydon’s world makes their connection feel so special, and that slow burn, the edging hits so good when it finally arrives.
I also loved the fake PR relationship element and how Meghan wove it into the fake dating trope in a way that felt fresh and a little different from the usual storyline. And we absolutely cannot forget the hilarious texting banter—because the “Gladdy Daddies” group chat moments were pure comedy gold… especially when they were carrying on about slutty little glasses (SLG). I was genuinely laughing out loud.
Huge thank you for the ARC—this was such a fun, spicy, emotional, tension-filled, laugh-out-loud ride.
