I love a little fairy tale spun into a book, and Teagan did such a good job with this one. Beauty meet Beast or should I say Ryan meet Rhodes. I even love the play on Ryan’s last name, Bell, very clever.
“He's my Beast, and I'm his Beauty. We make no sense together, but I'll be damned if I let that stop us.”
Ryan is a beauty influencer with a glowing personality and Rhodes is the grumpy hockey player known as “The Beast.” Not only is Rhodes a beast on the ice but an unfortunate blade to the face also made his appearance seem beastly to others. After a drunken trip to Vegas, they wake up married. How will they make this work in order to avoid nasty publicity?
Let me start by saying this book hooked me, it was hard to put down and I found myself smiling a lot. This book makes you feel good, it has heartfelt moments, "Adrian, you're beautiful. Not despite your scar, but because of it, and laugh out loud ones, “He’s going to kidnap me and hold me hostage in his castle.”
And on a steam level of five, it was a solid five-plus, Rhodes is one hot man. Ryan and Rhodes may be opposites but they fit together perfectly. I love their back and forth banter and the smiles Ryan could get out of Rhodes, you could see as the book goes on that Ryan really starts to soften up that hard exterior Rhodes has and you truly learn why. He is broken and it is so beautiful seeing Ryan help him heal.
I love sports romance but hockey is my favorite, and Teagan does a wonderful job writing it. I can’t wait to get more of the “Carolina Comets!”
I feel like every time I write a review after reading an MQ book, I start with, “Meghan has done it again” or something like that. Well, it’s true, the girl is on fire. Her books are addicting, sexy, funny, and page-turners, and this one I felt the same way. I was waiting for a story about Cora, I liked her character in all the other books and wanted to get to know her more, at the end of Earn Your Extra Credit when Pike was introduced I couldn’t wait to get a book about the two and oh my god is their story HOT. Not only is it extremely sexy it is humorous, witty, and heartfelt, I fell in love with them.
Cora is ready to celebrate her divorce and go on a girl's trip to Vegas, Pike is in Vegas and wants to get out, both have had an attraction to each other since they met, so what happens when they run into each other at a Vegas bar? A night full of hot sex right? Wrong! A hilarious drunken evening that has them waking up full of regret.
There were so many laugh-out-loud moments in this book from beginning to end, even when it’s in an emotional place MQ knows where to add the humor. I loved how Pike just inserted himself into Cora’s life and Cora wasn’t having it. I loved the sexual tension and chemistry, (even when it wasn’t really happening). I could go on and on about the fun banter, pranks, and living situation but you need to read it to experience the brilliance of this story. And I love love how in the end it came full circle, very clever.
So once again, “Meghan has done it again” she will always be my go-to author. I’m hoping for a Killian story!
I was hanging with the girls, celebrating my divorce when I saw him, my crush, sitting in the corner of the bar all alone. Being single and looking for a wild night, I asked him if he wanted to join me. To my delight, he said yes.
Drinks were consumed, fun was had and then . . . one drunken conversation with a cranky gondolier in Las Vegas led to an Uber lift through a drive-thru wedding chapel with the incredibly hot, British bad boy, Pike Greyson.
On paper, it seemed like I hit the jackpot. And if I wasn't fresh from a toxic marriage, I would have absolutely noticed the finer things about him.
But I wanted nothing to do with being married, so when I arrived back home from my eventful weekend in Vegas, the last thing I expected to see was a new doting husband already moved in.
I asked for an annulment, he pulled a Ross Geller and said no.
That's right, he said NO! Instead, he asked for three months to prove we could be good together.
Insanity clearly knocked him in the head and the only way I could convince him to give up on our sham of a marriage was to show him just how wrong we were for each other. Only problem with that was, he saw right through my every prank, every trick, and every yearning emotion I attempted to mask.
