A Bridge Between Us by: K. K. Allen is out now!

“Raw. Gripping. Electrifying. A Bridge Between Us will awaken your soul and set flight to your heart. I couldn’t put it down.” — Kandi Steiner, Bestselling Author

A Bridge Between Us, an all-new small-town romance full of suspense from USA Today bestselling author K.K. Allen is available now!

I had always known he wasn’t mine to keep, but that didn’t change the way I loved him—quietly, gently, and from afar.

As the seasons changed, the corn stalks grew strong, and the grapevines flourished with hope. But none of it mattered, not when the soil at our feet bound us in a century-old rivalry. We’d never even had a chance.

They said life flashed before your eyes on the way to death, but on that night, after my final scream burst from my throat and my world started to fade to black, I only thought of him. Of his sweet chocolate eyes, his desperately cautious stare, and his silence that carried more weight than gold.

I should have died that night. Instead, I crossed the moonlit bridge and never returned.
I let rivalry win. If only that had been enough to keep us all safe. If only we didn’t have a bridge between us.

My review (ARC provided)

4-4.5 stars!

This story is so well told and gives us on a journey from young kids to, teenagers, and then to adulthood. It’s kind of a friends to lovers/forbidden/second chance romance with a ton of suspense thrown in. I will say the only reason why I didn’t give it a full five stars was because I thought the beginning of the book dragged a bit, but after the first 25% it picked up and I couldn’t put it down. I was rooting for them all while everything and everyone was tearing them apart.

You will find yourself trying to piece together the puzzle of  “who did it?’ And coming up with many scenarios. This book is gripping and leaves you on the edge of your seat.

What will happen when a boy and a girl want to end a century-old rivalry? When that boy and girl are supposed to be rivals?

It’s push and pull throughout the whole story and Camila and Ridge is the definition of a soulmate, but nothing goes their way and everything gets in their way. Camila is strong and determined from her first introduction right until the very end. I love what a strong passionate character she is. And Ridge is the quiet observer that lets Camila “Wild One” have her light. He loves her for her and her strength, he is courageous in a reserved way and they just play off of each other in the best way possible.

“She was a storm, always bringing unpredictable weather with her.”

“I think I fell in love with Ridge’s eyes before I fell in love with his soul, his heart, or his mind.”

This is a beautifully written story that will have you wanting more at the end and thinking about it long after you’ve finished.
