HOLY.CRAP.
Amy OUTDID herself. This Harris Brother Spin-off has taken me for a whirlwind, given me my biggest book hangover, and has kept me wanting more from are favorite Scot Macky.
Maclay Logan and Freya cook are the BEST book couple, because we all love the friends that fall in love, right? But no relationship is butterflies and rainbows, and when Mac and Freya get pulled apart, feelings are hurt, hearts are crushed, and spirits are stomped on. This was a read that could not be put down and need to read ASAP.
Hands down the best book I’ve read of the year.
I feel like I wanted for Mac and Freya for forever, but it was just my impatience because I wanted them SO MUCH.
Freya is so awesome, and SO relatable. Her thoughts, her figure. Her fears. Not feeling like she’s good enough.
Then there’s Mac. Who is also awesome. And has his own faults...
I just love their relationship- from Netflixing Heartland, Hercules the cat... and how freaking swoon worthy Mac is when he becomes her “love coach”.
I can’t even tell you how much I loved it. I honestly want to start reading it again, it was that good.
Amy builds you up with this amazing story. Sends you gutted for a bit, and brings it all back to you in this perfect package.

I wake the next morning to a rough tongue touching my nipple. A smile spreads across my face as I open my eyes and expect to find Freya. My face falls when I see it’s her fucking demon of a cat laving at my pec like it’s going to produce milk at any moment.
“Fuck off, you wee bastard!” I bellow and shove the animal off my chest.
Hercules takes off down the hallway, and a snort echoes in the room. I turn my gaze to find Freya perched on a chair in the corner of her bedroom. She’s dressed in a long nightshirt, her red hair a wild mess of curls, and her makeup smudged like she was properly fucked last night. And she looks positively entertained.
“Did you just sit there and watch your cat violate me?” I croak, sitting up and rubbing my tender nipple.
She giggles and steadies herself so as not to spill the two cups of coffee in her hands. “I came in to bring you a coffee, but Hercules looked like he was warming up to you, so I just sat down here to not interrupt. I had no idea he was going to lick your tit.” She bursts out laughing all over again.
“You and I are in a fight then,” I reply gruffly, propping myself up on the headboard of her bed. “That was disturbing.”
She nods, her face still tormented with poorly concealed laughter. “For us all.”

My hands landed on my hips. “You can’t set up a mobile office in my bakery.”
“I have to work, Miss Smacker, and I am a paying customer.”
He took a long sip of coffee.
“This is your negotiating tactic? Wait out your target until she gets so annoyed she’ll sign anything to get rid of you?”
“Not to boast, but I’ve never had a woman want to get rid of me. In fact, just the opposite.”
Logan looked wistfully into the air. My guess, sexy memories of the long list of women he’s had encounters with. No doubt they were skinny, had big boobs, big hair, and legs for days, with cute Ivy League sorority names like Buffy, Felicity, and Poppy.
“You can’t stay here the entire day,” I snapped.
“Does that mean you’re ready to discuss Harper’s offer?”
“It means get out. You lurking here in the corner will unnerve my customers.”
