4.5 stars! Review copy provided by author. I have read this whole series and each book has been so good. This may have been my favorite. I've said this before and I'll say it again, Bethany Lopez knows how to put a smile on your face. She's not over the top with angst but always throws in a little something to keep your interest. I wasn't sure I really wanted to read about Victoria after the way she treated Scott and his friends but this book pleasantly surprised me and we got to know why she is the way she is.
Brock (H) sees Victoria (h) in the bar and something is pulling him to approach her. She gives her classic icy response and he asks for just 15 minutes to change her mind about him. Well she doesn't give it to him until he finds her again and finally gets her to agree. After 15 minutes she agrees to a fun no strings attached relationship. Brock gets to see a side of Victoria no one else has and as she slowly opens up he really starts to like the person she is. They are complete opposites but very compatible. Brock opens her eyes to things she would never have done. He gets her to realize what she should be doing with her life and he gets his friends and Victoria to all give each other a chance.
I love the girls in this book! They all are unique but not one of them is over the top bitchy or cruel. I find that this is so common in novels to have a bitchy villain or the girls in general are so mean to each other. When I find a novel that doesn't have that it's really refreshing. Now don't get me wrong the bitchy villain always makes it interesting but it is so nice for the change of pace. I was like YEY all the girls get along! No one is sabotaging the other. Okay so back to Brock and Victoria...they have this relationship where they are so completely different but it just works. They bring out the best in each other and I felt like Brock brought out the inner beauty Victoria had been hiding and when it finally came out it was like she was a different person...the ice princess melted.
After spending quite a bit of time together Brock and Victoria realize they have more than just a fun, no strings attached relationship but right when they admit there feelings for each other something happens. Will they be able to move on? And will it be together or apart?
Like I said this book took me by surprise not because I didn't think I'd like it but because of how much I did. It's usually hard for me to like someone I didn't in previous books but we just didn't know her. I also love the connection Brock has with his brothers and what he's
done for them, I'm keeping my fingers crossed we get books about them too. I'm looking forward to the next book which is about Gaby's sister Gwen and Cal's brother Craig. You get to know them a little in 42 Hours (Gaby and Scott's story). And maybe just maybe a book about the rich hot boss (Carson Brandt) of Scott's? hint hint ;)
This is book is told from both H and h POV.

I
waited to review this one because it ended so abruptly and left me hanging so I
wasn't sure how to rate it. It's almost like this was part one of the book.
This book was a roller coaster of emotions and angst, one minute I wanted to
punch the heroine and the next I wanted to punch the Hero. I finally read
(Ignite, #2) and let me tell you it was the same roller coaster if not worse. I
loved it and hated it. At one point I wasn't even sure I would finish it. I'm
glad I stuck with it though because it turned around after about 60%. There is
so much to spoil with these books so I don't want to write too much for fear of
spoiling them. I thought the author did a great job of surprising you and
that's why I kept reading. I just was getting so fed up with Sara the heroine
and Jaxon the Hero they were so mean to each other and so back and forth I was
ready to quit. The author did a good job with Remy's character because I wanted
to hate him and I did hate him for a lot of things, but then something would
happen and the twisted part of me felt bad for the guy. I still don't know
about a rating yet and I might not rate it. I think if you are going to read
these you should read them back to back but you'll need a few breathers in between
(if you're anything like me). The author has a book out about Remy but I'm not
sure I'm ready to go there yet. I thought the writing was well done and so were
the characters and development of them, but whew I just couldn't really like
them. The author did a great job of tapping into your emotions and dealing with
a Stockholm (type) syndrome. So like I said nothing negative against the author
or her writing it was just too much for me at times.
Twenty-year-old Sophie

attack ten months ago. However, this proves to be more difficult than
she anticipated. With the help of her best friend Ben Slone, it seems as
if she’s making progress, but the truth is that she can feel herself
sinking deeper into a black hole…until a tall dark stranger comes
knocking, looking for Ben.
Joshua Roxwell has been drowning his
demons with Whiskey and woman in an attempt to deal with his guilt after
the tragic death of his sister. When he finds an envelope addressed to
Ben Slone, written by his sister before her death, he decides to track
him down. Instead of resolving their differences, he meets the one girl
who silences his demons…but redemption comes at a price.
This is a story of heartache, friendship and love, with a wicked twist…

I'm not sure if you remember my post about Ignite
but it was too much of a cliffy for me to rate and review. Well now I'm reading
the sequel and I almost DNF. It takes a lot for me to stop reading a book. I only have a handful of books I DNF either because I read a spoiler or I couldn't connect with it emotionally at the time. And usually I'll pick it back up at a later date. Well I'm really glad I continued on because if I would have stopped at 60% like I almost did I would have missed a pivotal point of the book. These books are almost too angsty for me and that's saying a lot, but I'm continuing on because I have to see what happens. I'll be back with my review. If you want a emotional tug of war, read the first book and have the next one ready!
Have you ever stopped reading a book? Why?
Happy Reading!
