The Modern Gentleman was a laugh out loud story about two people finding each other at the most inopportune time. The story took place mostly from the hero (Wes’s) point a view, so we didn’t really get into the heroine (June’s) head very much. I loved Wes, he was this hot, funny, dorky dude, and you couldn’t help but love the guy. I was constantly laughing at everything that the poor guy experienced. Now June, on the other hand, I had a harder time connecting with, and the reasoning for the four stars instead of five. I believe it’s because I didn’t get her perspective until the end and by that time I hadn’t felt much, so as much as I liked getting her point of view, I would have loved it a little sooner. I always connect with Meghan’s h’s too, so I was a little surprised. I feel like she could have been a really fun quirky character.

There were so many moments that I just cringed and couldn’t believe what was happening to this “suave” Modern Gentleman. You see Wes is a writer and writes a column to help men date and not fall into the stereotypical guy, but when Wes meets June all is advice goes out the window. He is an absolute trainwreck and it is hilarious. His best friends Caden and Roman, as well as his boss Frank, really add to all the outrageousness. I think his friends, especially Roman would be a great story next. Oh my god and the end had me laughing out loud and picturing a certain music video singing right along, I loved it! So although this wasn’t my favorite book by Meghan it’s definitely worth the read and will have you laughing out loud. I would definitely recommend it!
