I'm trying to come up with words to really explain just how much I loved this book, both of these books; well the entire series...but this duet just blew me away. It was like Amy got into Gareth's head and truly found him., it was perfect!
I was so happy for this early release after the cliffhanger from Surrender. The way this book started out was genius and so unexpected.
This book was straight up about growth, forgiveness, give and take.
"It's not a power struggle or a dominant and submissive. It's a fluid ebb and flow. A balance. A partnership".
It was about healing and genuinely finding love and not just romantic love but a love of oneself and family. I can't tell you how many times I teared up reading this book. I smiled and laughed as well. Tanner of course, but all the Harris's bring some fun into some of the more emotional scenes.
"It's happened again. I've hurt and lost the one person I owe my life to...Just like when I lost your mother."
"The bad got me to the good. And when I look at all of you, I only see good."
The story of Gareth and Sofia meeting and getting to know each other really tugged at my heartstrings.
"I love Sofia more than I thought possible...Enough for more than one million dads even."
In this book, I feel like Sloan has come to terms with herself and her life. This is mostly Gareth's story and god I was so fulfilled. I honestly can say that there isn't one thing that left me disappointed. It was an excellent conclusion to this amazing couple, but not only that this family we've gotten to know and love so much.
"Gareth is not the kind of man you run from. He's the kind of man you chase."
I'm not left needing more; do I want more? Hell yes! But I am so happy with the way this series ended. This was such a heartwarming story, and Amy did a fantastic job of wrapping it up. I'm not ready to say goodbye but what a goodbye it was!
