Distraction by Aurora Rose Reynolds
I was tickled pink to read an ARC copy of Distraction. I finished the book in two days,
but spent another two trying to decided how to write this review. This
isn't the first review I have written for one of Aurora's books, and
decided that instead of writing your traditional review, I wanted to do
something a little different.
An open letter to Aurora Rose Reynolds
Dear Aurora
I
have been reading your books since the Mayson boys began to grace the
page. I decided I wanted to read Until Nico, did a little research, and
began with Until November. From the get go, I was in love with the
characters you created. From the sweet, females, to the rugged alpha
males I can't help but drool over, I'm not sure there is much I wouldn't
read if you wrote it.
As
I said goodbye to the Mayson brothers, I dove head first into the
Underground Kings series and found you have a bit of a dark sides. While
these men are strong with the typical alpha male attitude I have grown
to know and love, there is a darkness to these men, they carry themselves
and how they are perceived. While not always doing what some would say
is right, these men never wavered in their moral compass. These men
understood that while some acts may not be on the straight and narrow,
they would ultimately lead them to that path.
The
females you gave each of these alphas, are just as amazing as the
Mayson boys counter parts. Strong and kind, with more sass than than
they know what to do with. Beautiful in their own right, with this
amazing ability to reek havoc when necessary.
As
I finished each book in this series, I found myself wondering how the
next could be just as good or better. But let me tell you my friend, boy
oh boy did you deliver.
As
I jumped into Sven and Maggie’s story, I was in love once again.This
story does not disappoint giving me the swoony moments I love, the fan
yourself sexiness that I love about this genre and the happy moments
that keep me all warm and fuzzy. And while I hate to give away any sort
of spoilers about any books, I have to give away a small one.
I
applaud you, Mrs. Reynolds, for your breaking of the mold, to write a
female character who is strong not only in the person she is, but is
proud of her looks, despite what world tells her is the norm.
So
many girls and women are ashamed of how they look, and go through this
life wishing they could change everything about their appearance. I know I have
fallen victim to criticizing myself very harshly for not fitting the
mold that society tells us we should fit into.
All
I can say, is thank you. Thank you for writing a character that I
aspire to me like, not in any perfection, but in all of my imperfect
glory! I can not sing this books praises enough. It was hot and steamy
with all the warm feels I could handle.
Well done, Mrs. Reynolds. I can not wait for the next beautiful story you choose to give.

Aurora Rose Reynolds is a navy brat who's
husband served in the United States Navy. She has lived all over the country
but now resides in New York City with her Husband and pet fish. She's married
to an alpha male that loves her as much as the men in her books love their
women. He gives her over the top inspiration everyday. In her free time she
reads, writes and enjoys going to the movies with her husband and cookie. She
