I
couldn’t sleep. I meant to go to the kitchen and then I ended up here because I
wanted . . .” His reaction cuts like his anger. “Just never mind.” I try to
move around him but his hands press to the wall beside me, caging me, and now
I’m angry. “Are we doing this again? Don’t bully me. My stupid flashbacks are
doing a fine job of that on their own. I said I’m sorry. Just let me go back to
my room.”
“You wanted what?”
“I wanted you to do what you swore
you could,” I blurt, having nothing to lose when everything is already gone.
“Only I don’t want you to fuck me
until I can’t remember my name. I want you to fuck me until I stop thinking
about that man and the gun. Because you were right. Memories are the enemies
that never die. But I know you don’t want—”
His hand slides under my hair and he
drags me to him, my hand flattening on the hard wall of his chest. “I do want. So fucking bad it’s killing me.”
My palm is directly over his heart,
and I can feel it racing, the air around us crackling with barely contained
passion. “I don’t need a hero to save my virtue tonight. I need you. So please. Fuck me and then fuck
with my head so no one else can. Let me choose my own sins.”
He is stone, unmoving, his body
steel, his expression unreadable, the sexual tension crackling between us. “You
want sin, sweetheart,” he says. “I’ll give you sin.” His mouth closes down on
mine, his tongue licking into my mouth, wicked with demand, and I can taste his

I've read and followed the Inside Out Series from the very beginning and have always wondered what happened to Ella. It's been over three years since I read the first book and when we were introduced to her briefly.
Well we finally find out where Ella is but unfortunately for her she doesn't know or remember a thing. She doesn't have anyone and trusts no one. When Ella wakes up in a hospital with no memory and staring up at a beautiful man she doesn't know what to think. She feels a connection or a familiarity but can't figure it out. Kayden the man she wakes up to, the man that saved her makes it his mission to protect her and help her regain her memory.
As memories start to resurface she's still left with a nagging feeling she can't place. Kayden takes her under his wings. He moves her in with him but she also knows she's running and hiding from something and Kayden is helping her. But what?
Lisa Renee always does such a good job of keeping her readers guessing. I would think I had something figured out and then start second guessing. I'm actually going to go back and read the beginning of If I Were You to refresh my memory on Ella. If I remember correctly I thought her boyfriend/fiance was a doctor? I must reread now. So there are lots of twists and turns, some fan worthy scenes and a mysteriously sexy hero.
It does end on one big cliffy but it's definitely worth the read. I have never been disappointed with Lisa Renee and will be anxiously waiting for the next book in this series.
