I read it and was speechless. My jaw dropped and I thought Oh My God this didn't just happen. Definitely not a typical romance if one at all. I was shocked I don't think I've ever read a more despicable heroine if you even want to call her that. I think she was worse than Amy Dunne from Gone Girl! I'm glad I read the authors note about going in blind because honestly I don't know if I would have read it otherwise. This isn't typically something I read, I like dark but this was more than dark. I couldn't put the book down though and commend the writer for putting this out there because I think she might get a lot of upset romance lovers! Actually most of the characters in this book are pretty despicable and even the "supposed" good guy wasn't very likable to me. I did feel bad for him but I wasn't really rooting for him.
Cedar-like I said...heroine? villain? She gets anything and everyone she wants. She will stop at nothing to get where she needs to be. She's beautiful, rich, and thought of highly in the New York scene. She is called the Queen of New York City.
Ellis-hero? Very smart just finished up his Masters degree and recently discovered something he never would have fathomed. Cedar and Ellis pushed together unknowingly, very attracted to each other, each has a plan.
There is not much more I can write without spoiling it.
This book was a good change of pace for me and made me realize I don't always need everything wrapped up perfectly at the end. It's nice to have jaw dropping moments and this book was definitely one.
