Synopsis:
Pristine waters and purified evil.

Three years on the “Field-Dresser” case and Special Agent Nathan Brewer is days away from catching the bastard—if he can convince a certain brunette to trust him. Only the woman is more likely to take a casual stroll on the surface of the sun.
After fleeing her troubles in the United States for the quiet life of a school teacher on the island of Tortola, Madelyn Garrett never imagined she’d be fixated upon by pure evil.
In a fight for her life—with a dwindling number of friends—she must rely on her cunning and Nathan’s skills for survival.

My Review: (copy provided)
 4 stars!

This book was really good.  I wasn't quite sure what I was getting into. I read the synopsis so long ago and didn't reread, so it was a nice surprise. I haven't read a romantic suspense in a while. It started off a tad slow for me and then boom at about twenty percent in I was hooked. There are some disturbing and dark details and yes it bothered me to read it but I felt it was important to the book. The author does a great job with description in general but it's not over done or too detailed.

Madelyn (h) has ran away from her past and moved to a beautiful island but lurking on that island is a serial killer and she just may be his next target.

Nathan (H) is there on the island to investigate the latest murder and to protect Madelyn. He has never become interested or involved in one of his cases but Madelyn is different and he wants to know her. He wants her to trust him and he wants to trust her. Madelyn doesn't trust and doesn't date but there is something intriguing about Nathan. Will they let feelings get involved while on the hunt for a serial killer?

The one thing that I really liked about this book was that the romance wasn't front and center. I love love love romance novels but when you take a topic like this on I think it's important to focus on the "main event." I also really liked that the "who done it" wasn't predictable...at least not to me. I'm usually pretty good at guessing what's going to happen and it took me a long time to figure this one out.

All in all a great book with a lot of suspense, romance and some pretty sexy scenes!
