Review...Rydin' the Storm Out by: P.J. Fiala

Rydin' the Storm Out

Synopsis:
Working at Rolling Thunder Motorcycles has been enough for Ryder, until now. He's always been the shy, quiet one. He watched his father find love and didn't think it was possible for him. Until he met Molly. Something stirred inside of him, but would he take the leap out of his shell to ask her out?

Molly has always been head strong and devoted to her work. Building up her photography business has always been top priority. Vowing to not make the same mistakes as her mother, she put love on the back burner. That is until she is hired to shoot a wedding and the groom’s son catches her off guard.

Is Molly ready to take that leap and realize not all men are the same? Will Ryder and Molly be able to move past their own insecurities and calm the storm that rages inside them? Or will they be Rydin’ the Storm Out alone?

My Review: ARC provided
4 stars!

I think P.J.'s work just keeps getting better. I really enjoyed this book. I love the fact that we got a shy H, (Ryder) in so books you get the over confident, arrogant guy so this was a nice change for me. Molly (h) was great, I really liked her character. She was so afraid of becoming someone she clearly wasn't and her flaws felt very real to me. I also like how Ryder came out of his shell with her (especially in the bedroom) ;) I think that was a good call for his character, many shy people aren't shy behind closed doors or when they get close to a person. I did feel that their love was a little instant but in their particular story it didn't bother me so much. I also got a few unexpected surprises along the way which I won't spoil for anyone.

The one thing I wish I got more of an answer to was Lancaster and what happened to him. I just wish that had been wrapped up better. Also it bothered me that Ryder left Molly alone after everything that had just happened to her and what he had just learned regardless of how broken he was. I was pleased at the glimpses of Jeremiah and Joci you get in this book, it updates everyone on how things are going with them. In P.J.'s last couple of books her characters were in their 40's and 50's, this time she took on the twenty something age and did a terrific job of it.  I'm excited to see that P.J. is going to continue this series with a new character, (Danny) you get introduced to him in this book. Danny's War, I believe is next in the series, then hopefully more about the brothers! I think this is P.J.'s best work to date. I definitely recommend it.

About the author:

I was born in a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri named Bridgeton. During my time in Missouri, I explored the Ozarks, swam in the Mississippi River, played kickball and endless games of hide and seek with the neighborhood kids. Spending summers in Kentucky with my Grandmother, Ruth, are the fondest childhood memories for me.

At the age of thirteen, my family moved to Wisconsin to learn to farm. Yes, learn to farm! That was interesting. Taking city kids and throwing them on a farm with twenty-eight cows purchased from the Humane Society because they had been abused, was interesting. I learned to milk cows, the ins and outs of a breeding schedule, feeding schedule and the never ending haying in the summer and trying to stay warm in the winter. Our first winter in Wisconsin, we had thirty-six inches of snow in one storm and were snowed in our house for three days! Needless to say, I wasn’t loving Wisconsin.

I am now married with four children and three grandchildren. I have learned to love Wisconsin, though I still hate snow. Wisconsin and the United States are beautiful and my husband and I travel around by motorcycle seeing new sites and meeting new people. It never ceases to amaze me how many people are interested in where we are going and what we have seen along the way. At every gas station, restaurant and hotel, we have people come up to us and ask us about what we are doing and offering advice on which roads in the area are better than others and great rides others have been on if we are interested.

I come from a family of veterans. My grandfather, father, brother and two of my sons and one daughter-in-law are all veterans. Needless to say, I am proud. Proud to be an American and proud of the service my amazing family has given.
